SETUP & MEASURE
This is how the A/B test works in Odoo
01 Open Website → Reporting → Page Experiments.
02 Select the website and the public page to be tested.
03 Create or add the desired variants.
04 Set sample size, observation window, and success criteria.
05 Start the experiment and compare the results.
All active variants remain accessible via the same public URL. Visitors will randomly receive a variant with each call.
You can evaluate these metrics
— Impressions or measured page views
— Visits with at least one click
— Click rate per variant
— Average visible dwell time
— Clicks on individual link targets
— Results of the selected main goal
This allows you to see whether, for example, a different headline, a new page layout, or a changed call-to-action leads to more interactions.
ANALYZE & CHALLENGE
Determine winners and continuously optimize
After completing an experiment, you can manually select the best variant or leave the decision to the system. The automatic selection occurs once the defined samples and observation windows have been reached.
With Challenge the winner you start another round based on the most successful variant. While you prepare new alternatives, the previous winner remains available under the public URL.
Inferior variants are archived within the experiment. The associated pages and previous results are retained.
Typical application areas
RS A/B testing is suitable, among other things, for comparing:
Headlines and introductory texts Hero sections and page entries Call-to-Actions and link targets Performance and product presentations Form hints Page structure and content order short and detailed landing pages
Anonymous measurement without visitor profiles
The module does not set its own analysis cookies and does not store visitor profiles, IP addresses, or browser fingerprints. Recurring individuals are not identified. Each page view counts as a separate visit.
For the duration of stay, only the time during which the relevant browser tab is visible is considered. Odoo may use cookies independently that are necessary for its regular website functions.
