Innovation Award
For the third year in a row, rising systems has been named one of the TOP 100 most innovative companies in Germany. Based in Düsseldorf, the software provider and development partner stands for digital solutions that are consistently designed from the customer’s and user’s perspective. As an Odoo Silver-Partner rising systems implements the open-source ERP system and customizes it to meet the specific requirements of mid-sized companies. In addition, through an exclusive WinGuard Custom Development partnership in Germany, the IT service provider also delivers market-leading solutions for building management.
Despite a record number of 550 participating companies, rising systems once again succeeded in positioning itself as a top innovator. “New ideas are always accompanied by growing pains,” says Managing Director Sebastian Witzmann. “Only those who are willing to take the sometimes uncomfortable step of fundamentally questioning existing solutions arrive at results that truly deserve the often overused label of ‘innovation’.” This approach was also applied to the recently launched sports portal of the City of Düsseldorf. Instead of digitally replicating an existing process one-to-one, rising systems created an entirely new citizen service. Using artificial intelligence, the application recommends suitable sports and activity offers and directly connects users with nearby clubs.
Open source for the backoffice
The IT service provider orchestrates and streamlines business processes—particularly for mid-sized companies—using the open-source software Odoo, which offers the flexibility required to creatively implement individual requirements. Sebastian Witzmann explains: “Anyone who looks closely will quickly realize that the digital maturity of many companies is still relatively low. Replacing proven proprietary solutions with integrated software is often perceived by management and employees as a leap into cold water. For us, it is a strong sign of trust when companies take this step together with us.”
Building management via the WinGuard platform
As the only WinGuard Custom Development Partner in Germany, rising systems not only implements the widely used building management platform, but also extends it, develops interfaces, and configures the user interface so that security personnel can work with it efficiently. “The business areas of software development, ERP implementation, and building management follow a clear internal logic,” says Sebastian Witzmann. “We identify and realize the added value that digitalization offers today. If that didn’t place us among the TOP 100, we would have to question our work.”
TOP 100: The competition
Since 1993, compamedia has awarded the TOP 100 seal to mid-sized companies for exceptional innovation strength and above-average innovation success. The scientific director since 2002 has been Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, founder and board member of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. The mentor of TOP 100 is science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar. Project partners include the Fraunhofer Society for the Advancement of Applied Research and the German SME Association (BVMW).
