Why RS Chatter to Channel?
By default, in Odoo Chatter, only individual people can be mentioned with @Name. If multiple employees need to be informed, all users must be selected individually. This takes time, increases administrative effort, and carries the risk of forgetting individual people.
RS Chatter to Channel extends Odoo Chatter with simple group tagging. With a hashtag like #Sales or #Support, all members of the corresponding channel are automatically notified. Since channel members are centrally managed in Odoo Discuss, notifications remain up-to-date even with changes in the team.
How the module works
After installation, you can address channels directly in Odoo Chatter using hashtags.

All members of the channel automatically receive a notification – just as if you had mentioned each person individually with @A @B @D @F @X.

With RS Chatter to Channel, you can mention entire channels in Odoo Chatter using #ChannelName. Instead of tagging multiple people individually with @Name, a hashtag like #Sales or #Support. All members of the respective channel will automatically receive a notification.
Yes. As soon as you mention a channel in Odoo Chatter with #ChannelName, all members of that channel will be automatically notified. The notification occurs similarly to a personal @mention, but for the entire group.
The members are managed centrally in the Odoo Discussion App. Changes to teams or responsibilities do not need to be made in the module. New or removed members will automatically be considered in future notifications.
No. If all members of a team need to be informed, mentioning the corresponding channel with #ChannelName is sufficient. Individual @mentions can still be used if you want to specifically notify individual people.
